Nine Parts Water

Nine Parts Water is my first novel. It was a runner-up in the ABC Fiction Award in 2006 and was shortlisted for the 2008 Dobbie Award for first-time female writers. It is published by University of QLD Press.

NEWS

Radio National’s Lingua Franca want me to record my essay about Hansard, Word for Word. I shall let you know when i have a broadcast date.

- The Griffith Review have also shown interest in publishing it in an edition about science(?!) next year.

- I was shortlisted in the Alan Marshall short story competition for a story I wrote 10 years ago, about a girl with a stutter.

- The Varuna workshop for book-to-film didn't happen because there weren't enough applications. Damn it. My application was brilliant!

The Dobbie Award

In May of 2008 I was shortlisted for the Dobbie Award, an award for first-time women writers, which is part of the Kibble Award. Tasmanian Writer in Residence 2008

In April/May 2008 I was a Writer in Residence in Tasmania in 2008 as part of the Tasmanian Writers' Centre's (TWC) Island of Residencies program.
